ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Manasi Barve, the founder of Oorja Art Studio.
The name Oorja comes from the Sanskrit word “ऊर्जा”, meaning energy or vitality. It reflects the core belief behind my practice—that art placed within a space should carry a sense of positive presence, calm, and balance.
Before starting Oorja, I spent over a decade shaping digital experiences as a User Experience Designer. While that journey deepened my understanding of design, structure, and human interaction, I eventually felt drawn toward a more tactile and expressive form of creativity.
Through textured artworks, natural fibres, and mindful pattern work, I create handcrafted artworks that engage both the visual and sensory experience of a space. Each piece evolves slowly through an intentional process, allowing materials, texture, and form to develop naturally.
My work spans textured canvases, rope-based sculptural compositions, and meditative doodle art inspired by traditional forms such as mandala and Kalamkari. The aim is not only to create visual interest, but also to introduce depth, quiet energy, and thoughtful presence into the spaces these works become part of.
You can explore more of my work, studio process, and creative explorations on my YouTube channel and Instagram.
